Basic English Literature 

Ballad(গীতি কবিতা):Romantic pop song is called ballad.(আনন্দদায়ক গান বা কবিতাকে ballad বলে)। 

Blank verse(আমিত্রাক্ষর):Having no rhyming end.(যে কবিতার শেষে ছন্দ থাকে না তাকে Blank verse বলে)।

Elegy(শোকগাথা কবিতা): It is a poem of Lamentation and mourning.(যে কবিতায় দুঃখ অনুতাপ এবং বেদনা প্রকাশ করে তাকে Elegy বলে)।

Epic(মহাকাব্য): Heroic deeds is called Epic or A long long story -dealing with brave deeds.

Sonnet(চতুর্দশপদী কবিতা): A Lyrical poem of 14 lines is called Sonnet.(চৌদ্দ লাইনের ভাব/অনুভূতি প্রকাশক কবিতাকে সনেট বলে) The Sonnet often consists of an octave and a sestet.

Dirge(ডাজ-শোকসঙ্গীত): Song expressing grief, lamentation and mourning. (যে গান দুঃখ,অনুতাপ এবং বেদনা প্রকাশ করে তাকে Dirge/-শোকসংঙ্গীত বলে)।

Limerick(কৌতুকপূর্ণ পঞ্চপদী ছড়া/কবিতা):A Form of light verse( পাঁচ লাইনের হাস্য-রসাত্বক কবিতা /ছড়াকে Limerick বলে।

Parody:To copy the style of someone or something in a humorous way.

Lyrical poem: Expressing personal thoughts  and feelings in beautiful  way.
