1. Agamemnon: The first play in the trilogy follows the return of King Agamemnon from the Trojan War. Upon his arrival, he is killed by his wife, Clytemnestra, as revenge for sacrificing their daughter Iphigenia to the gods.

2. The Libation Bearers: The second play focuses on Orestes, the son of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, as he returns home to avenge his father's death by killing his mother and her lover, Aegisthus.

3. The Eumenides: The final play follows Orestes as he faces trial for the murder of his mother. The goddess Athena intervenes to establish a new system of justice, shifting the cycle of blood revenge to a more civilized legal process.

The trilogy is a landmark in the history of Greek drama, known for its exploration of themes such as justice, revenge, and the transition from personal vendetta to organized legal processes. Aeschylus's work is highly regarded for its poetic language and dramatic structure.
