What Is ‘TRUMPLAND’? An Analysis of SFJ’s Proposal for a Christian Homeland in Northeast India

What Is “TRUMPLAND”?

A Critical Analysis of SFJ’s Proposal for a Christian Homeland in Northeast India

In recent months, a controversial proposal titled “TRUMPLAND” has circulated on social media and online platforms. The idea was put forward by an organization called Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), which claims to advocate for the rights of religious minorities in India. According to SFJ, the proposal envisions a “safe Christian homeland corridor” carved out of parts of Northeast India.
This blog post aims to analyze the proposal objectively, separate claims from facts, and explain why the issue has generated intense debate.

Who Are Sikhs For Justice (SFJ)?
Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) is a diaspora-based political organization best known for campaigning for a separate Sikh homeland, commonly referred to as Khalistan. The group organizes what it calls the “Global Khalistan Referendum”, seeking votes from Sikhs worldwide on Punjab’s political future.

What Does the “TRUMPLAND” Proposal Claim?

According to SFJ’s statements:

  • Several Northeast Indian states—including Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, and Assam—are proposed as part of a Christian “safe homeland corridor.”
  • The organization argues that Christians in India face persecution and insecurity, requiring international attention and protection.
  • SFJ released a conceptual map to visually promote this idea.
SFJ links this proposal ideologically with its broader campaign for religion-based self-determination, similar to its Khalistan narrative.

Connection Between TRUMPLAND and the Khalistan Referendum

Both initiatives reflect a similar strategy:

  • Khalistan movement → Sikh religious identity
  • TRUMPLAND narrative → Christian religious identity

✅ SFJ has indeed proposed the idea of “TRUMPLAND” and released promotional material.
